Join Cranbrook Geologist-Paleontologist John Zawiskie for a lively exploration of the landforms, sediments, surface rocks and paleontology of Southeast Michigan, Oakland County and Bloomfield Township; illustrated by slides and video clips. These features provide a remarkable record of the period between 14,000 and 10,000 years ago; including, the transition from the Earth’s last great glacial period to our present warm interglacial condition and the great North American megafauna extinction.

This presentation in the BHS / BTPL lecture series took place in 2009.

If you would like more information about John and his work, please follow this link to a recent Oakland Press newspaper story.
